Ryan Newman Visits Chrysler Headquarters to Celebrate Daytona Win

Dodge celebrated Ryan Newman's Daytona 500 victory on Thursday, March 14 at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan and it was standing room only as fans and employees lined the railings of all four floors around the building's atrium.

Ryan Newman entered the tech center, descended an escalator and disappeared behind a curtain. As the crowd waited for him to reemerge, Dodge's NASCAR mascot "Ramby" got the crowd revved up.

Mike Accavitti, Director - Dodge Brand and SRT Global Marketing and Communications, stepped up to the mic to welcome everyone and thank them for their support. Suddenly, the sound of revving engines filled the air and the #2 Miller Lite and #12 Alltel Dodge Chargers drove in from each side of the stage.

Newman climbed out of his Charger's window and joined Chrysler CEO Bob Nardelli on the stage. Kurt Busch, the #2 driver, was not present to drive his car in.

Nardelli congratulated Newman on his historical victory, expressed his excitement about the win and discussed the role teamwork is playing in motorsports today.

The win was "truly a team effort," said Nardelli. "A collaboration of two unselfish guys."

Automotive legend Roger Penske joined the two on stage to present Nardelli with a Daytona 500 leather jacket and a framed photo of Newman crossing the finish line. Penske and Newman shared what they were feeling during the fateful final lap and they discussed their optimism for rest of the season.

"We're going to show you some real results," said Newman. "We try our best and let the results come to us."

With 2008 off to a great start, it's likely that the Dodge boys will keep ‘em comin'.
