PASSENGER PROTECTION

We designed the Dodge Durango to make you feel secure and confident behind the wheel. That means trying to avoid accidents before they happen. But the unexpected can occur and when it does, the Durango has multiple features to help keep you safe and secure.

  • CRUMPLE ZONES

    CRUMPLE ZONES

Specially designed front and rear crumple zones help absorb impact energy and redirect it away from passengers to help reduce the risk of injury.

  • ROCK-HARD FRAME

    ROCK-HARD FRAME

A solid structure built with high-strength steel is the foundation of the body and frame. Substantial roof strength and safety cage construction help protect the passenger compartment in the event of an accident.

  • SEVEN ADVANCED AIRBAGS

    SEVEN ADVANCED AIRBAGS

Advanced multistage driver and front passenger airbags+, supplemental full-length side curtain airbags+ for all outboard passengers, front seat-mounted side airbags+ and a driver-side knee blocker airbag+ all come standard.

  • REACTIVE FRONT HEAD RESTRAINTS

    REACTIVE FRONT HEAD RESTRAINTS

The head restraints+ move during a rear-end collision to decrease the space between the headrest and head, helping reduce the risk of head and spinal injuries to front seat passengers.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL with STOP

Available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop+ is a driver-assist feature that uses a radar sensor to detect vehicles ahead. When you have cruise control initiated and slower traffic is detected ahead, ACC with Stop will automatically adjust your vehicle's cruising speed to help maintain your set distance using throttle control and limited braking. When necessary, it will slow to a complete, controlled stop in an effort to help prevent a collision.

FORWARD COLLISION WARNING WITH CRASH MITIGATION

Available Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation+ uses radar sensors to detect when your vehicle may be approaching another vehicle too quickly. When the system detects a potentially hazardous situation, it alerts you by sounding a chime and displaying a visual message in the instrument panel and may apply a brake jerk to warn the driver of a potential collision so the driver can respond to the situation. If the driver doesn't respond and the risk of a collision continues, the brakes will bring the vehicle to a full stop.

Backup Assist

BACK UP ASSISTANCE

Help avoid potential accidents by taking advantage of the available ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System+ and the available ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera+. ParkSense detects objects when your vehicle is moving in reverse at low speeds and audibly alerts you of the potential danger. ParkView uses your Uconnect® Touchscreen to display a wide-angle view of what's behind your vehicle when you shift into reverse.

UCONNECT® EMERGENCY AND ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Being stranded on the road can be really annoying. Fortunately, in the event you become stranded, we've equipped the Dodge Durango with available services to help resolve the situation. With available Uconnect® Access Roadside Assistance+, one push of the “ASSIST” button located in the mirror summons the Dodge roadside assistance provider to help you with gas, a tire change, a battery jumpstart or towing to the nearest Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge or Ram vehicle dealer. In an emergency situation, Uconnect Access+ Emergency Assistance connects you directly to the police, the fire department or the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) dispatcher when you push the 9-1-1 button+.

ADVANCED BRAKING TECHNOLOGY

The four-wheel antilock brake system monitors the speed
of each wheel, allowing each wheel to brake independently
for superior control.

  • RAIN BRAKE SUPPORT

    -

Rain Brake Support removes water from brake pads by applying
a small amount of pressure to the caliper. It engages when the windshield wipers are activated and in the LO or HI position.

  • BRAKE ASSIST

    +

Available Brake Assist senses emergency braking by detecting the rate and amount of brake application and boosts the power as needed, helping to keep you safe and secure.

  • READY-ALERT BRAKING

    +

Ready-Alert Braking preps the brakes for a panic stop when you suddenly release the accelerator pedal.

  • ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION

    +

Electronic Brake Force Distribution regulates braking pressure front-to-rear to help optimize stopping distances under all vehicle-loading conditions.

BLIND SPOT MONITORING

Available Blind Spot Monitoring+ helps keep you aware of vehicles outside your peripheral vision, assisting you in making lane changes. Strategically placed sensors warn you with a visual indicator in the corresponding exterior mirror of potential hazards that enter your blind spot zone.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL

You’re driving on a wet or icy road, and you feel confident because Electronic Stability Control+ (ESC) is monitoring your steering input and vehicle motion to help ensure your vehicle stays put. During extreme steering maneuvers, if ESC detects a difference between your steering input and the vehicle's movement, it applies the brakes and reduces engine throttle (if necessary) to help you maintain directional control.

RAIN-SENSING WIPERS

Available rain-sensing wipers detect moisture on the windshield and, if the wipers have been placed in one of the delay positions, will activate automatically. You don’t have to take your hands off the wheel to adjust the wiper controls as the rain level changes.
