Dodge Durango provides Best-In-Class towing capability.
Models equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine can tow up to 6,200 pounds+. In order to increase capability for high-load applications including trailer towing, the Pentastar V6 test engines were subjected to a substantial 50% increase in severity testing versus previous V6 engines.
If you equip your rearwheel- drive Durango with the legendary 5.7L HEMI® V8 with Fuel Saver Technology, you can tow up to 7,400 pounds+.
Standard Trailer Sway Damping+ applies brake pressure and may adjust engine throttle to help eliminate sway and maintain vehicle and trailer system stability.
The available rear load-leveling suspension adjusts the ride height of Durango, depending on the combined weight of the passengers and cargo it is carrying, for optimum handling and control.
The Trailer Tow Group IV provides equipment vital for heavy duty towing applications. The package includes:
Class IV receiver hitch
7 and 4 pin wiring harness
Heavy-duty cooling
Rear load leveling suspension
220 amp alternator
Full-size spare tire

- TOW / HAUL SWITCH

Push the TOW / HAUL button for improved towing performance during trailer towing, heavy-load hauling or driving in mountainous areas. The TOW / HAUL mode inhibits fifth gear and allows upshifts to fourth during higher speed / lighter load conditions. It is available on HEMI V8-equipped models only.
- TRAILER SWAY DAMPING

In any towing situation, there is always a chance of sway occurring. Standard Trailer Sway Damping is designed to determine if your trailer is swaying back and forth and helps to correct the situation.
Trailer Sway Damping uses the Electronic Stability Control+ sensors to recognize when unique vehicle and / or trailer motion is occurring that isn't caused by steering input. The system then applies brake pressure on alternating wheels and may adjust the throttle to help eliminate the sway and maintain vehicle and trailer system stability.
