The standard four-wheel independent suspension is key to an enjoyable driving experience.

The MacPherson strut front suspension is tuned to help provide an optimum balance of ride, handling and noise isolation.

The independent multilink rear suspension allows individual articulation of the rear wheels over varying road surfaces for nimble handling.

The suspension is uniquely tuned on each Caliber model to suit a particular style of driving.

Caliber SXT comes standard with a touring suspension for a very smooth, relaxed ride(Available on SE).

STABILITY SYSTEMS

Electronic Stability Control+, now standard on all Caliber models, helps you maintain control during extreme steering maneuvers.

The system works with traction control and the antilock brake system to apply individual brakes or control the throttle as needed, to help keep you on course.

    ESC senses wheel slippage and responds automatically to help the driver gain control.

    ADVANCED FOUR-WHEEL DISC BRAKE PERFORMANCE

    Dodge Caliber has several advanced technologies within its brake systems that help make every stop sure, secure and controlled. Four-wheel disc brakes are standard on Caliber SXT and SXT Plus. Features include:

    • A four-channel antilock brake system monitors the speed of each wheel, allowing individual wheel braking for superior control
    • Electronic Brake Force Distribution regulates braking pressure front-to-rear to optimize stopping distances under all vehicle-load conditions
    • Brake Assist senses emergency braking by detecting the rate of brake application and boosts the brake pressure as needed
    • Hydraulic Boost Compensation runs the ABS pump “full-time” if it senses a failure, ensuring the brakes will perform as normal until the failure is serviced
  • Hill Start Assist
    HILL START ASSIST

    Hill Start Assist helps prevent vehicle rollback on a steep grade. The system maintains brake pressure as you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator.

    Hill Start Assist is included on Caliber models equipped with the manual transaxle.
