We're proud to introduce the all-new Pentastar® 3.6L V6 engine that delivers durability with minimum scheduled maintenance. Engineers completely retooled and delivered a whopping 20-percent improvement in horsepower and 12-percent bump in torque over the previous V6. The engine torque exceeds 90 percent of peak torque from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm for a smooth, responsive driving experience. All this, and it's still able to deliver a quiet ride and improved fuel economy. Good enough to carry you over 500en_journey_3.6L highway miles on a single tank of gas.

The Journey 2.4L world engine provides peak power, torque and generous gas mileageen_journey_2.4L with smooth idle and low-speed operation. In addition, Journey is equipped with dual variable valve timing, a unique find in a moderately priced vehicle.

2011 Dodge Journey comes with two available transmissions: the electronically-controlled six-speed AutoStick® transmission - standard with the 3.6L V6 engine – or four-speed automatic variable line fluid pressure transmission – standard with the 2.4L engine.

    Six-speed AutoStick shifter transmission

    The Journey six-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick shifter is mated to the new V6 engine and was equipped with a very low first gear, designed to make quick takeoffs from a stop. The transmission uses a variable line pressure to help increase gas mileage and enhance reliability.en_penstar
