As part of a rigorous Noise, Vibration and Harshness regimen, extensive four-post shaker testing not only measures overall durability of the Grand Caravan, it pinpoints and addresses any road noise issues. Testing is also conducted under extreme conditions of hot and cold to further help ensure durability.
In addition to systems that decrease road, powertrain and wind noise, sound dampening materials are applied to areas where noise can reverberate, including the roof, wheel wells, floor, dash, doors and windshield. There is even a sound dampening substance that adheres to the sheet metal during the paint baking process.
