All-Weather Performance

Durango offers an active all-wheel-drive option for added traction when the weather gets nasty. All-wheel drive is fully automatic and seamless, with no buttons to push, no levers to pull. It’s ready when it’s needed.

Durango with the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine features an available All-wheel-drive with two-speed transfer case, a low range for added versatility. The system uses throttle to sense quick movement and maximizes traction before slippage occurs. When tire slippage is detected, as much as 100 percent of available torque is routed to the axle with the most traction.

The low range torque allows you to haul a boat out of the water and flat trailer towing when putting the drive system in neutral. The Durango All-wheel-drive system also features Variable Torque Distribution for an ideal 50 / 50 split in traction to the front or rear, whenever traction is needed.

      Durango offers convenient full-time all-wheel drive which provides resistance to slipping wheels for additional torque transfer and 50/50 front/rear torque split with open differential.

  • Low-range gear

      Low range gear reduction is offered for extreme traction conditions and active torque distribution through an electronically controlled clutch pack.

  • Skid plate group

      The available skid plate group includes front suspension skid plate, fuel tank skid plate shield, transfer case skid plate shield, underbody skid plate and tow hooks.
