392 ci SRT HEMI® V8 Engine

The 392 HEMI is back, in the Challenger 392 SRT8® . Its all-new 392 ci SRT HEMI V8 engine produces a staggering 73.4 horsepower-per-liter – the highest naturally aspirated specific-output engine ever offered by Dodge (even more than the fabled 1960s and 1970s 426 HEMI engine 60.86 hp-per-liter rating).

The 392 ci SRT HEMI cranks out 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque thanks to high-flow cylinder heads, SRT specific intake, exhaust manifolds and beefed-up valves that respond to a performance-ground camshaft. It's only fitting that the reinforced block under the hood of the Challenger SRT8 is clad in HEMI Orange from the original paint code.

The 392 ci SRT HEMI mated to a five-speed automatic comes with Fuel Saver Technology for greater efficiencyen_epa_challenger_v8 while at cruising speeds. Its aluminum cylinder heads are milled with hemispherical combustion chambers that benefit airflow and, subsequently, horsepower and torque. The new 392 ci SRT HEMI also features variable valve timing for improved torque. When equipped with Fuel Saver Technology, the computer-controlled variables add up to improved mileageen_epa_challenger_v8, even with all of that power available when needed.
