The All-New Pentastar® 3.6L V6 engine delivers maximum durability with minimum maintenance. Engineers completely retooled and delivered a whopping 17-percent improvement in horsepower and 11-percent bump in torque over the previous V6. The engine torque exceeds 90 percent of peak torque from 1,600 to 6,400 rpm for a smooth, responsive driving experience. All this, and it's still able to provide improved fuel economyen_avngr_epa and a quieter driving experience.

Avenger features a 2.4L four-cylinder world engine that provides peak horsepower and torque, smooth idle and low-speed operation. In addition, the 2.4L four-cylinder world engine offers dual variable valve timing.

2011 Dodge Avenger comes with two available transmissions: the electronically-controlled six-speed automatic transmission - standard with the 3.6L V6 engine and available with the 2.4L engine on certain models or the four-speed automatic VLP transmission – standard with the 2.4L engine.
