Brake Life

Ram Heavy Duty trucks with the Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine are the only trucks in their classen_based_auto_news_sprinter with a standard integrated diesel exhaust brake. It prolongs brake life, reduces brake fade, and provides stopping safety and confidence when hauling heavy loads on downhill grades.

The diesel exhaust brake slows your truck down without using your wheel brakes. Instead, exhaust gasses that would normally flow through the turbocharger are kept in the engine after the turbo's exhaust inlet closes. This builds exhaust backpressure, which slows the engine and therefore the drivetrain.

Superior brake pad surface area, brake piston and caliper size means longer intervals between brake jobs for less time and money spent in the shop. en_own_cummins
