It's no surprise that Ram 1500 has a smoother ride than Chevy, Ford or Toyotaen_2009ram1500_amci_55mph. We replaced the leaf springs with class-exclusiveen_first_in_class multi-link coil suspension for increased ride quality, comfort and better handling without sacrificing payload capacity. What you don't get is rear-end "hop" when driving on the highway.

      Hydroformed frame construction increases dimensional accuracy by reducing the amount of welding, which tends to cause distortion. The frame has fully-boxed side rails to achieve stiffness and impact strength while reducing weight. Also, the serviceable front frame rail tips with patented crush initiators are designed to absorb frontal impacts.
