Transmissions

All that Cummins® power would be lost if it weren't for Dodge Ram Chassis Cabs' workhorse transmissions. Three are available in all: A five-speed automatic, six-speed manual and six-speed automatic. Both six-speed transmissions offer Power Takeoff (PTO) capability. All three transmissions have plenty of gears to deliver efficient power to pull your load wherever the job drives you. Speaking of pulling ahead, the six-speed manual offered in 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs has a lower first gear ratio than Ford or GM conventional chassis cab models.

  • Power takeoff (PTO)

    Dodge Ram Chassis Cab trucks boast an impressive available Power Takeoff (PTO) capacity of 35 horsepower and 135 lb-ft of torque. A PTO unit is an aftermarket gearbox that attaches to the side of the transmission to power an accessory, such as a hydraulic pump. Learn more.
