• Engines

The 2008 Dodge Sprinter is powered by a strong standard 3.0-liter V6 common-rail direct injection (CRD) turbodiesel engine that combines long life, low maintenance costs, and excellent fuel efficiency en_epa_2008_estimated with smooth, clean, quiet performance. An optional 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine blasts 254-horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque with powerful pick up and smooth, even action. Both give you the tight handling performance and feel of an automobile.

Standard 3.0-Liter V6 CRD Turbodiesel Engine

    • 154 horsepower at 3,400 rpm
    • 280 lb-ft of torque at 1,200-2,400 rpm
    • Aluminum block, cast-in iron cylinder liners
    • No-retorque head gaskets
    • Four-valve per cylinder design
    • Oil-change interval: 10,000 miles
    • Diesel-fuel filter change interval: 30,000 miles
  • Automatic Transmission

The 2008 Dodge Sprinter transfers power from the engine to the rear axle via a standard five-speed automatic transmission with AutoStick®. This W5A 380 transmission offers excellent shift comfort with optimum shift points.

  • Turning Radius

Dodge Sprinter gives you a surprisingly tight turning radius. It zips around slim city streets and moves in and out of tight alleys with ease. Plus its handling action is easy-breezy, thanks to power-assisted front rack-and-pinion steering.

  • Suspension

With its poised, precise, assured handling, the 2008 Dodge Sprinter drives more like a comfortable, high-spirited car than a business van. Responsive power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, rear-wheel-drive and adaptive Electronic Stability Program[1] (ESP) all help Dodge Sprinter exhibit excellent control under various load conditions. To further improve handling, particularly when cornering, both front-wheel suspension assemblies are connected by an antiroll bar (optional on 2500 models, standard on 3500 models). In the back, a durable, low-maintenance full-floating rear axle features robust longitudinal leaf springs and a superb design to eliminate bending.
