• Longest Lasting, Most Durable

Durability, quality and reliability lead the impressive list of Ram assets. It's what makes Ram the longest lasting,[1] most durable[2] family of full-size pickups. Multiple systems on all Ram trucks are subject to the most punishing environments and terrain on the planet before they get to your driveway.

We put a single Ram through grueling trials that range from 120°F deserts to -20°F arctic climates. Name the challenge: towing in the mountains, running for a week without stopping. For reliability and durability that carries the day, look to Ram. It's been tested.

  • 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel

When it comes to diesel powered engines, one name stands well above anyone else—Cummins. The sophisticated 6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel powerplant continues its legacy of supplying pure, clean truck power. Unique Variable Geometry Turbocharging, means the turbocharger is side-mounted on this inline six-cylinder to simplify the design and help alleviate under-the-hood heat buildup that can occur with V8 engines.

Horsepower tops out at 350 providing ample acceleration, but it's the torque that really impresses, with best-in-class low-end torque[3] that supplies an incredible 650 ft-lb[4]. And this beast provides 16,500-lb of towing capacity without ever breaking a sweat.

  • Cleanest Diesel Technology

The available 6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel engine provides tremendous power with ultra-clean emissions technology, making Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 models the cleanest[5] and strongest[4] pickups ever.

With leading advances in diesel technology, Dodge has reduced the amount of harmful emissions from it's engines by 90-percent in the past decade. In fact, the Cummins® engine is the only diesel that meets EPA emission standards to date. The Dodge Ram 2500's closed-case system, means crankcase ventilation gases are rerouted for combustion, instead of released into the atmosphere.

In addition, the 6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel uses an oxidation catalyst in combination with managed engine combustion, increasing or decreasing exhaust temperature to mange a diesel particulate filter (DPF). This allows regeneration to take place under low-ambient/ low-load conditions when exhaust temperatures are low as well as during normal operation.
