4.7-Liter V8 The new 2008 Dakota is unleashing the new 4.7-liter V8 — the only V8 option in its segment — incorporating two spark plugs per cylinder, an increased compression ratio, improved cylinder-head port flow, and a new combustion system. The result is 302 horsepower, 329 lb.-ft. of torque, and better fuel economy[1] for work or play. And on the greener side of things, the 4.7-liter FFV V8 is E85[2] capable, making it a Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV) when properly equipped.
3.7-Liter V6 Power: It comes standard on Dakota. At its heart is a fuel-efficient 3.7-liter Magnum® V-6 engine, providing 210 horsepower and 235 lb.-ft. of torque. The power doesn't stop there. This engine features Electronic Throttle Control for positive throttle response and exhaust gas recirculation to help lower emissions.
